Yona ist eine Prachtskatze, ich liebe sie über alles. Sie hat ein wunderbares Fell und trägt auch im Sommer einen schönen Pelzkragen. Ihr Schwanz ist unglaublich lang, mit dichtem, buschigem Unterfell und überlangem, glänzendem Deckhaar. Yona hat einen klassischen Waldkatzenkopf mit einem sanft geschwungenen Profil, grossen Ohren und langen Pinselchen, eines davon ist rot, das andere schwarz. Sie hat ausdrucksstarke Mandelaugen und lange Wimpern. 

Yona ist die Königin im Haus. Sie bewegt sich ruhig und elegant, und wird von allen hier respektiert. Die stolze Lady schläft gerne in meinen bunten Einkaufstaschen, in Körben, Höhlen und Schachteln, am liebsten jedoch auf ihrem Mensch auf dem Sofa. Wilde Spiele sind nicht ihr Ding, aber wenn Insekten durchs Haus fliegen, wird sie zur Jägerin. Wenn man sie ruft oder beim Heimkommen begrüsst, gibt sie mit einem melodiösen Gurren oder leisen Miauen Antwort, und man kann mit ihr durchaus auch eine längere Unterhaltung führen. Mit demselben Gurren fordert sie mehrmals täglich ihre Streicheleinheiten ein, worum sie mich nicht lange bitten muss. Nachts schläft sie am liebsten an meine linke Schulter gekuschelt, mit einer Pfote an meinem Gesicht.

Yona  ist die Urmutter meiner kleinen Zucht, sie ist die Mutter der allerersten Thurayababys, und viele ihrer Nachkommen waren oder sind immer noch wichtige Clanmitglieder: ihr Sohn Bacuri und dessen Nachkommen Hunyani, Caracal,  Daïthi, Éhad und Jurema, ihre Tochter Grymma und deren Tochter Juniper.

Yona ist inzwischen im Ruhestand und wird hoffentlich mit mir zusammen uralt werden.

Yona is a dream of a cat, I love and adore her with all my heart. Even in summer she has a wonderful fur with a thick collar. Her tail is incredibly long, with dense, bushy underwool and long, shiny guard hair. Yona has the classic head of a Norwegian, with big ears and long brushes, one of them red, one of them black. Her expressive, oblique almond eyes  are surrounded by long, black eyelashes. She's a middle size cat on long legs, with large, always snow white paws.

Yona is the queen of the cattery. She moves with royal grace and elegance and is respected by everybody. Our lady‘s favourite places are my colourful shopping bags, baskets and boxes, but the most favourite is on her human’s lap on the sofa. Wild games don’t attract her, but insects or butterflies in the garden awake the fierce hunter in her; and mind the fence neighbour cat! When called for or greeted after coming home, she answers with a melodious purr or soft meow, and you can also have longer conversations with her. With the same purr she demands her daily amount of tenderness, and doesn't have to ask twice. At night she prefers to sleep cuddled to my left shoulder with one paw on my cheek. 

Yona is THE foundation cat of Thuraya's cattery. She's the mother of the very first babies, and quite a few of her offspring were or still are important members of the clan: her son Bacuri and his descendants Hunyani, Caracal, Daïthi, Éhad and Jurema, her daughter Grymma and Grymma's daughter Juniper.

Yona is enjoying her retirement now and a carefree life as the light of my eyes, I hope we two can grow old together.
